Dr. Seward
is Medical Director at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Co-Director
of the UCSF-UCB Joint Residency in Preventive Medicine. Jim received his
medical training at UCSF. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and
Preventive Medicine (Occupational Medicine). He recently completed a Masters
in Medical Management at Tulane University, and he holds a Masters in
Public Policy from UC Berkeley.

Dr. Kownacki
graduated from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia
PA in 1986, completed his residency in Occupational Medicine at the University
of Southern California in 1989 and his Masters in Public Health from UCLA
in 1988. Dr. Kownacki is Board Certified in Occupational Medicine through
the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He is currently the Chief of
the Kaiser Permanente Richmond Occupational Health Center.

Papanek received his MD degree in 1977 from UC San Diego and took his
residency in Family Medicine at UCLA. He received a Masters of Public Health
degree from UCLA in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health
Science and is Board certified in both Occupational Medicine and Family
Medicine. Dr. Papanek is Chief of the Occupational Health Service/Kaiser
on the Job Program in the Metro Los Angeles area, and he serves on the
Workersí Compensation Committee of the California Medical Association.

Dr. Belcourt received his medical degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and completed his residency in Family Practice at the University of California, Davis. Following a stint in the United States Air Force, he embarked upon his occupational medicine career in Sacramento. He is board-certified in both Occupational Medicine and Family Practice. He also serves as the President of the Nevada Health Professions Assistance Foundation, a non profit organization consulting with the State Medical Board and providing advocacy for drug and behaviorally impaired medical providers.

Dr. Swann is the San Francisco Bay Area Medical Director for Concentra Medical Centers and the Lead Medical Review Officer for Concentra's Alcohol and Drug Testing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Randle
graduated from medical school at UC San Francisco in 1973 and then underwent
training in general surgery at UCLA and the University of Washington.
He entered Occupational Medicine in 1978, and became Board Certified in
that specialty in 1989. He practiced occupational medicine with CIMC/Readicare
until 1991, serving as Vice President of the medical group. Dr. Randle
is a medical consultant for corporations and workers compensation insurance
carriers, specializing in utilization review and medical management of
WC cases.
Ms. Parker
has served as Executive Director of the Western Occupational & Environmental
Medical Association (WOEMA) since 1999. She serves in this capacity through
a management contract with Holland-Parlette Associates (HPA), the largest
San Francisco-based association management firm. HPA provides association
management services to thirteen other non-profit membership trade &
professional associations with a staff of 20 full-time employees and
additional part-time staff. Parker
has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Iowa (1982) and a Master's
degree in Public Administration from Iowa State University (1985).

Leslie
Israel, DO, MPH is Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine and Associate
Director of the Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) Residency
Program at the University of California at Irvine (UCI), Center for
Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH). She joined the UC Irvine
faculty in 2003 to pursue her interest in educating OEM residents.
In addition to residency-related tasks, she provides medical oversight
for clinical activities within the UCI COEH. Currently, she is working
with several governmental agency programs including: ATSDR’s “National Asbestos Health Program”
and Department of Industrial Relations (DIR-Cal/OSHA Consultation) and
California Department of Health Services “Flavor Industry Safety
and Health Evaluation Program.”

Dr. Jewell is an Associate Clinical Professor in the UCSF Division of Occupational
and Environmental Medicine, and is Medical Director of the Occupational
Health Service at San Francisco General Hospital. Her professional
activities include clinical and administrative work, teaching and consulting
work in local private industry. She received her MD degree from UCSF
and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Santa Clara Valley
Medical Center. She subsequently completed postgraduate training in
Occupational and Environmental Medicine at UCSF, and is board certified
in both Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine. She is particularly
interested in further development of resources for WOEMA members which
link current events (e.g. SARS) and advances in research to the practice
of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

Dr. Lenny is an Occupational Health Services physician for Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, Maui Clinics and has been practicing Occupational Medicine on Maui for 10 years. She is Board Certified in Occupational & Environmental Medicine and a certified MRO. As a representative from Hawaii and as a physician who practices “in the trenches” of Occupational Medicine, she hopes to bring needed regional diversity and a multicultural Occupational Medicine perspective unique to Hawaii to the organization and to learn and share with her island colleagues the collective knowledge and support WOEMA can offer.
Dr. McIntosh
received her MD degree from Pennsylvania State University and completed
a family medicine internship at University of California, Irvine. She
worked for many years in Family Medicine and Urgent Care before pursuing
residency training in Occupational Medicine. She completed her MPH at
University of California, Los Angeles and her practicum year at University
of California, Irvine. She works for ExxonMobil Corporation as a Site
Occupational Health Manager since 2000.
Dr. Newman
is the principal of The Newman Medical Group, focusing on Occupational
Health Services for Silicon Valley and the Monterey Peninsula. Dr.
Newman received his M.D. from UCSF and did residency training in Family
Medicine at the Stanford/San Jose program. He completed the Mini-Residency
in Occupational Medicine at UCSF. Dr. Newman is currently Associate
Clinical Professor of Medicine at Stanford University. His clinical
activities have included consulting ser-vices and direct patient care
to over 50 companies throughout California. Currently, his largest
client is Monterey Mushrooms, where he serves as Chief Health Officer
for over 3,500 Hispanic farmworkers around the United States.
Dr. Pocekay is Chief
of the Department of Occupational Medicine at TPMG in San Rafael, CA and
a Staff Physician in the Petaluma office. He received his MPH from University
of California, Berkeley, and his MD from Creighton University in Omaha,
NE. Dr. Pocekay went into Occupational Medicine because of special interest
in musculoskeletal disorders. His interests include fibromyalgia, disability
management, and occupational health and safety services. He especially
enjoys teaching small groups and primary care providers.
